For those of you interested in African science fiction, there is an excellent BBC podcast hosted by Lauren Beukes here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00t4yn2

I will be in Cape Town for 2 weeks overlapping July and August, presenting with colleagues on a Symposium at the International Congress of Psychology around peace and violence in Africa. Our symposium is scheduled for Monday 23rd July, with topics being Child survivors of armed conflict and violence in Africa; Women who bear children through rape in Goma, Eastern Congo; Justice and health responses for survivors of sexual violence: A case study of Northern Uganda and Narrative analysis of loss of limb experiences within a Sierra Leone amputee football team. http://www.icp2012.com/index.php?bodyhtml=home.html

Something Wicked magazine from South Africa are looking for funds to launch their inaugural anthology. Please think about donating – they have only a week left to meet their target. The proposed book is rich with talented writers and great stories: http://www.indiegogo.com/Something-Wicked-volume-one

Finally and certainly far from least, my wonderful cousin (Rachel Stafford) is renewing her battle with cancer and any help would be appreciated: https://fundrazr.com/campaigns/3Ksta?
