Some key news for the past few months<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

I am thrilled to have sold my book \u2018Azanian Bridges<\/em>\u2019 to NewCon Press<\/strong>, due to be released\u00a0in 2016. The book was discussed here<\/a>, in an earlier blog-hop to support the \u2018disability\u2019 themed SF anthology \u2018Accessing The Future<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n

Talking about \u2018Accessing The Future<\/em>\u2019, this wonderful anthology has subsequently just been released and further info can be found at ‘The Future Fire’<\/strong>\u00a0here<\/a>.\u00a0Further to ‘The Future Fire’<\/em>, I am very pleased my story \u2018The Paragon of Knowledge<\/a><\/em>\u2019 has been published there. TFF celebrate ten years of publication (TFFX) and are gearing up for an anthology<\/a> to herald their socio-political perspective\u00a0on SF.<\/p>\n

Other news of note, the African SF<\/strong> online magazine \u2018Omenana<\/a><\/strong>\u2019 is both going -and growing – strong and is well worth supporting!<\/p>\n

Cat Hellisen<\/a><\/strong>‘s book ‘Beastkeeper<\/em>‘ is a treat, both for 10-14 year olds AND adults! There has also been a great review of a couple of ground-breaking books for African SF<\/strong> at the LA Review of Books<\/strong><\/a>, viz. Dilman Dila<\/strong>‘s ‘A Killing in the Sun<\/em>‘ and SSDA’s<\/strong> ‘Terra Incognita<\/em>‘ anthology (edited by Nerine Dorman<\/strong><\/a>).\u00a0Look out, too, for Tade Thompson\u2019s<\/a><\/strong> \u2018Making Wolf<\/a><\/em>\u2019 next month, cover illustration from the amazing Capetonian Vincent Sammy<\/strong>!<\/p>\n

Kudos are also due to Stephanie Saulter<\/a><\/strong> with the launch of her final book ‘Regeneration<\/em>‘ in her\u00a0\u00aeEvolution<\/strong> trilogy. I’ve started the series and look forward to what feels like a great ride ahead! Also recently out is ‘The House of Shattered Wings<\/em>‘ by Aliette de Bodard<\/a>\u00a0and there is much anticipation for Zen Cho’<\/strong>s ‘Sorcerer to the Crown<\/em><\/a>‘. I’m looking forward to Rochita Loenen-Ruiz<\/strong><\/a> adding a novel eventually, to her range of\u00a0beautiful\u00a0short stories too!<\/p>\n

Moving from fiction to ‘fact’ and on the theme of intersectionality, I have an essay in the WisCon Chronicles vol.9<\/strong>,\u2018Intersections and Alliances<\/em><\/a>\u2019 entitled \u2018 On the Puncturing of Identities and the Pouring In of the World<\/em>.\u2019 \u00a0And, given the importance of supporting and fostering intersectional diversity in the world, the American Psychological Association have (rather belatedly, but better late than never) published guidelines on \u2018Psychological Practice with Transgender and Gender Non-Conforming People<\/a>.\u2019<\/p>\n

Finally, but certainly not \u2018leastly\u2019, ‘Stories for Chip<\/a><\/em>‘ is out, a celebration of the fantastic life and work of the great Samuel R. Delany<\/strong>, the powerful TOC line-up is here<\/a>:<\/p>\n
