I&#8217;ve always been interested in &#8216;non-fiction&#8217; articles critically addressing SF in its broadest sense. The annual anthology of <a href=\"http:\/\/thebooksmugglers.com\/2014\/04\/speculative-fiction-2013-out-now-and-a-giveaway.html%20\">online SF<\/a> related articles is thus always of interest: So if you are interested in nominating any articles along these lines (e.g. the <strong>Chinelo Onwualu<\/strong> article in <em>Omenana<\/em>), <a href=\"http:\/\/thebooksmugglers.tumblr.com\/post\/96963971697\/speculative-fiction-2014-announcement-and-call\"><em>Speculative Fiction 2014<\/em><\/a> is still open.<\/p>\n<p>In this \u2018best of\u2019 spirit, here&#8217;s <strong>Bookshy&#8217;s<\/strong> top or favourite picks for 2014 African book <a href=\"http:\/\/bookshybooks.blogspot.co.uk\/2014\/12\/my-favourite-african-book-covers-of-2014.html\">covers<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thirdly, my story &#8216;<em>Azania<\/em>&#8216; is due to appear next year (2015) in &#8216;<em>How to Live on Other\u00a0Planets<\/em>&#8216;, a collection of <strong>migration themed<\/strong> SF stories. The KickStarter is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kickstarter.com\/projects\/1431077765\/how-to-live-on-other-planets%20\">here<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0This looks a great collection, so I&#8217;m really looking forward to reading the other stories. Further in this vein, here&#8217;s reportage of a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/world\/2013\/dec\/03\/kenya-immigration-sci-fi-series%20\">Kenyan SF TV<\/a> series with an interesting inversion of the immigration theme &#8211; Immigration is a fraught topic in the UK currently and as a migrant myself I found this following article insightful and resonant on this issue, &#8216;<em>We Are all Migrants<\/em>&#8216; by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2014\/nov\/21\/mohsin-hamid-why-migration-is-a-fundamental-human-right\"><strong>Mohsin Hamid<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Next year I&#8217;m also looking forward to <em>AfroSF Vol.2<\/em> coming out, which includes a story co-written with <strong>Tade Thompson<\/strong>, entitled &#8216;<em>The Last Pantheon<\/em>.&#8217; <strong>Tade&#8217;s<\/strong> a gifted artist too, so I look forward to any illustrations that may appear alongside the story. It&#8217;s an African super-hero tale, pitching South African V Nigerian super-hero\/villain against each other.
