Probe is the South African science fiction society's magazine. The UK publications in which Nick's short fiction have appeared are Works a UK magazine of "slipstream" fiction, Scheherazade a magazine of fantasy, science fiction and gothic romance, the ezine Infinity Plus and the sf/fantasy magazine Interzone.
"God in the Box" was translated into French and published in the Utopiales anthology in 2003. Nick's stories have both won and been among the runners-up in the annual Science Fiction South Africa's short story competition.
Nick is currently working on a sequence of stories set on the Moon, with a man torn between the calling of his ancestors and the call of Mars.
