But please read through the <strong>entire<\/strong> magazine, which has a wide variety of really good, really interesting <strong>African SFF<\/strong>, as well as an excellent article by <a href=\"https:\/\/wtalabi.wordpress.com\/\"><strong>Wole Talabi<\/strong><\/a> on &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/omenana.com\/2016\/03\/25\/why-africa-needs-to-create-more-science-fiction\/\"><em>Why Africa Needs to Create More Science Fiction.<\/em><\/a>&#8216;\u00a0\u00a0<strong>Wole<\/strong>\u00a0also has a wonderful\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/wtalabi.wordpress.com\/2015\/11\/28\/my-favorite-african-science-fiction-and-fantasy-sff-short-fiction-of-2015\/\"><strong>2015 AfroSFF<\/strong><\/a> recommended short fiction list as well. Also on <strong>Omenana<\/strong> is a resource (again, kudos to both\u00a0<strong>Wole<\/strong> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.manchester.ac.uk\/research\/geoffrey.ryman\/publications\">Geoff Ryman<\/a>) dedicated to listing <a href=\"https:\/\/omenana.com\/afrosff-short-fiction-directory\/\">AfroSFF published throughout 2016 <\/a>&#8211; please contact <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/u\/0\/d\/1nOgRhi5YWsCClPbPwMUCbpVEUrwoJ6ywyMPmGxG9UJw\/viewform?edit_requested=true\">Omenana<\/a> if you have something to <a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/u\/0\/d\/1nOgRhi5YWsCClPbPwMUCbpVEUrwoJ6ywyMPmGxG9UJw\/viewform?edit_requested=true\">add<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;ve also added some links to my publisher <strong>NewCon Press<\/strong> for my debut novel <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newconpress.co.uk\/info\/book.asp?id=62&amp;referer=Hp\">AZANIAN BRIDGES <\/a>&#8211; strictly speaking it <strong>IS<\/strong>\u00a0a debut as my previous YA Novel, <a href=\"http:\/\/nickwood.frogwrite.co.nz\/?page_id=65\">The Stone Chameleon<\/a>, is under 30K and more novella than novel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking of novellas, the inimtiable <a href=\"http:\/\/bookshybooks.blogspot.co.uk\/\">Bookshy<\/a> explores the novellas of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/AfroSFv2-Tade-Thompson-ebook\/dp\/B017KNK8GU?ie=UTF8&amp;*Version*=1&amp;*entries*=0\">AfroSFv2<\/a>, including <a href=\"https:\/\/tadethompson.wordpress.com\/\">Tade Thompson<\/a> and my &#8216;<a href=\"http:\/\/bookshybooks.blogspot.co.uk\/2016\/04\/meet-last-pantheon-by-tade-thompson-and.html\">The Last Pantheon<\/a>.&#8217; <strong>Tade<\/strong> himself deservedly won the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thekitschies.com\/awards\/golden-tentacle\/\"><strong>Golden Tentacle for Best Debut<\/strong> <\/a>at the <strong>Kitschies for <\/strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.goodreads.com\/book\/show\/25074040-making-wolf\">MAKING WOLF<\/a>, against\u00a0a strong competing field, including <strong>A. Igoni Barratt&#8217;s<\/strong>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2015\/aug\/14\/blackass-by-a-igoni-barrett-review-cocktail-kafka-comedy\">BLACKASS<\/a>. (<strong>Tade<\/strong> will also be joining <a href=\"http:\/\/www.maureenkincaidspeller.com\/\">Maureen Kincaid Speller<\/a> and <strong>Andrew Milner<\/strong> as presenters on\u00a0the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sf-foundation.org\/masterclass2016\"><em>Tenth\u00a0Science Fiction Foundation Masterclass in Science Fiction Criticism<\/em><\/a> in June.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And, talking of awards, <a href=\"http:\/\/aliettedebodard.com\/\">Aliette De Bodard <\/a>became the first person ever to win a double prize (both short AND Long forms) in the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2016\/mar\/28\/aliette-de-bodard-picks-up-two-sci-fi-awards-for-startlingly-original-fiction\">British Science Fiction Awards, 2016.<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-verse\" style=\"text-align:center\">(No mean feat at all - well done Aliette!!)<strong><br\/><\/strong><\/pre>\n\n\n\n<p>Finally, for those interested in reading <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.co.uk\/Azanian-Bridges-Nick-Wood\/dp\/1910935123\/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1462809112&amp;sr=8-1&amp;keywords=azanian+bridges\">AZANIAN BRIDGES,<\/a> several reviews are linked to: firstly, via the academic <a href=\"https:\/\/markbould.com\/2016\/02\/21\/nick-wood-azanian-bridges-2016\/\"><strong>Mark Bould<\/strong><\/a>, secondly,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/liverpool.academia.edu\/Andysawyer\"><strong>Andy Sawyer<\/strong><\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/reviews.futurefire.net\/2016\/03\/wood-azanian-bridges.html\">The Future Fire <\/a>and (most recently) <a href=\"https:\/\/ericbrown.co.uk\/\"><strong>Eric Brown<\/strong><\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/books\/2016\/may\/05\/eric-brown-science-fiction-roundup\">The Guardian<\/a>.
